All-round musicianship

Our piano lessons focus on all-round musicianship with fun. To become an all-round musician, students need a range of interlocking skills - in performance, technique, notation, and listening and musical perception - as well as knowledge, understanding and creativity.

Why learn to play the piano?

The benefits of music education are numerous for both children and adults alike. Learning an instrument awakens new aptitudes and refines talent at every stage of life. Children learn personal discipline, math, and numerical skills and even competitive and presentation skills through rehearsal and performance opportunities. Adults benefit from the calm reflective discipline of developing their musical ear, finger dexterity and memory with the weekly challenge of learning repertoire away from the pressures of responsibility.

What happens in the 1st lesson?

I find out about you!

I will begin by finding out about my new students.

The piano is probably the most versatile instrument in the world, so I begin by finding out about what your musical goals and ambitions are and how much time you have to give. Through games and exercises I assess musical and pianistic abilities to find the starting point.

Hand on from the start!

By the end of the first lesson my new student has at least one new exercise of piece to practice at the piano for the week.

Reading music from the start!

Learning to read music is a journey as learning to read words, but the stave is introduced in the first lesson with every student, and everybody is confidently reading and learning some theory from the first course of lessons.

Developing the confident musician from the start!

Music is a form of expression so I help you to develop your ear so that from the first course you know your pieces from within and can improvise at the piano.

For Advanced Students

I help you prepare for any examination, audition, or performance, working with you to fine tune technique and musical nuance, expanding your memorization and repertoire. Classical pianists have the chance to develop their skills in Jazz and Popular Music, and More.

Tuition Rate: $75.00 & $100.00 per lesson.
No Free-Trail Lessons Offered.
